“My doctor says I have a herniated disc.” We hear it at events and from our new patients all the time. Sadly, many doctors forget to mention this is a condition that can be resolved, and it is not something you have to deal with the rest of your life. If you’ve never experienced a herniated disc, that’s great! If you have, you know that even the littlest movements can cause pain so severe it takes your breath away and makes normal daily activities seem impossible.
The disc sits in between most of the bones in your spine and helps support and allows motion in between each of those bones. Over time, various forces, activities, postures, or even traumatic accidents can cause the disc to be damaged. Disc injuries can result in muscle stiffness, sharp or achy discomfort, pain that comes and goes, pain that shifts from the right side to the left side, and it can even send numbness and/or tingling down your arms or legs. In short, effects from an injured disc can vary greatly.
We use an approach that is utilized by medical professionals all over the world to quickly reveal whether your pain is due to a herniated disc or another structure in your body. Once this is determined, your treatment is based off making your symptoms reduce and increase your body’s range of motion. We have had great success helping our patients resolve their herniated disc symptoms, and we would love the opportunity to help you or your acquaintances!
