I know, I know, we all already get up early enough for work so why on earth would we want to get up even earlier to put our bodies through a torturous workout? Bare with me on this…it’s so worth it! First of all, getting up early and at the same time every morning creates a routine and getting your body into a routine is the first step to reaching your fitness goals. Also there’s just something about walking into work, or school, or whatever you have that day, knowing that you were up earlier than everybody else and have already accomplished so much in your day. Plus, I don’t know about you but if I wait until the end of my day to workout, I find every excuse in the world not to do it. I’m already so tired by the end of the day and I’ve already done SO much that I just can’t even bare the thought of doing a workout.
Working out is also a great way to get your mind up and going for the day! The endorphins released during exercise will help boost you through your entire day. Those same endorphins could also keep you from falling asleep at night if you workout at the end of your day. I find that I sleep so much better and fall asleep so much faster when I workout in the morning as opposed to working out in the evening. I’ve also found that I feel like I have so much more time in the day when I get up early. If I want to take my dog for a walk to wind down in the evening, I can, because I’ve already accomplish what would have taken an hour of my time after work! Plus, with that extra time, I actually have time to make a good dinner for our family instead of whipping together a quick meal or whatever I can find around the house. With that, we actually end up eating healthier (which just moves me closer to my fitness goals!!). Funny how that works.
I could go on and on about why morning workouts are the way to go. If you get anything from this, I hope its inspiration to get out there and get after it nice and early tomorrow morning! The early bird gets the worm!Tags: fitness, fitness goals, morning, pain, workout
